History, About Regal
Originally launched in 2000, under the name ‘The Dry Cleaners Northmead’, David and Bambi Mares started the company with a vision of excellence in mind. While most of our competitors operated as a factory, we decided to keep our customers at the centre and launched our dry cleaning business as a retail shopfront.
In 2005, we changed the name of our successful first store to Regal Dry Cleaners, and from that point on noticed an influx of franchise requests from major shopping centres in the Sydney area.
"We were well-branded, we were clean, we believed we were a retail environment and we excelled."
Bambi says.
By 2008, Regal Dry Cleaners had expanded to three Sydney-based dry cleaning stores now run by David and Bambi’s son, Tristan. Their daughter Samantha also played a key role in running the family company before embarking, with her husband, on her own business ventures. They also have two other children, Pippa and Damien, who live in New South Wales.
In early 2013, David and Bambi made a brief trip to the Sunshine Coast in Queensland and instantly fell in love with the relaxed holiday lifestyle. They purchased what was then Bundilla Dry Cleaners, and moved to the coastal region. Since then we have expanded on the Sunshine Coast and opened a second Regal Dry Cleaning store in Kawana & now offering driveway service at our Maroochydore store.
With five shopfronts to our name and the goal to continue expanding, Regal Dry Cleaning is here to stay. The heart of our business is to ensure our customers receive the highest-quality dry cleaning while enjoying the friendly and professional environment at any of our stores.
